• The rubber shell of the tennis ball is made from synthetic rubber, which is used in a variety of everyday objects, like car tires erasers and more. It is an amorphous crystalline structure. This rubber is made of petroleum elastomers such as cis-polyisoprene which has properties very close to natural rubber. 

• The nylon coating of the tennis ball is petroleum based, and is found in clothing items and other sorts of plastics. It is an amorphous crystalline structure. The nylon is made from petroleum based oils found in the earth and is refined to make a desired product.
